Chronicle Teams Up With Pantone

Chronicle Books have teamed up with Pantone to come up with the Pantone Postcard Box. This new book/box contains 100 post cards that are all "chips" of Pantone Colors. In fact they are fun to use in many different crafts around the house. Brooke Johnson from Chronicle Books had the following to say, "“We wanted to include an equal mix of colors from Pantone’s Fashion and Home color system and their Plus Series print system — the system that graphic designers are most familiar with. Artsy Barcodes

What is so special about barcodes? Nothing really. They've always been there, and they're an essential part of packaging and paying for our goods. But recently, there's been an interesting movement by some small companies to change the design of the traditional barcode! Instead of the boring rectangular code that we're used to, these artistic barcodes are quite beautiful and adds to the overall packaging aesthetic.

According to Yahoo Finance, smaller companies are utilizing "vanity barcodes" to put their own personal stamp on their packaging. The movement has even spawned businesses that specialize in creating these vanity barcodes, such as Design Barcodes Inc, and Vanity Barcodes LLC.

While there are certain limitations to making barcodes, …

Colorstrology

For those who check their horoscopes on a daily basis, colorstrology may be a fun way to figure out what else influences your mood and personality aside from the stars. Pantone and a noted astrologer patented "colorstrology" with 366 different colors based on your birth month and date. Each day has a different color, and therefore a different meaning.

Each date has personality traits and a blurb about what that color will do for you and what it means to have been born on that day. Check out Colorstrology for a fun pick-me-up; who doesn't love finding out more about their personality?

In his words, “My brief was to create a calendar for Pantone, the world-renowned authority on colour. The main aim for me was to make this calendar relevant on a global scale. With the colour wheel being universally recognised, I used this and combined it with a mosaic made up of 1440 different images to create my main graphic. Sticking with the whole worldwide idea, I have included many visual references to a host of different countries within the mosaic, and highlighted many of the main religious and cultural holidays throughout the year.”

So he designed this most excellent circular calendar based on the colour wheel, using images from all roun…
